GitHub has completed its acquisition of npm
GitHub issued an announcement that GitHub has completed the acquisition of npm. From the announcement of the acquisition to the completion of the acquisition, exactly one month has passed. On March 17, GitHub CEO Nat Friedman announced that GitHub has signed an agreement to acquire npm.
The transaction is currently completed, and the announcement mentions that npm’s public registry service will always be available and free of charge. In addition, the npm official blog also mentioned that it will continue to improve the npm CLI.
After npm officially joined GitHub, the next three development focuses are:
- Engaging with the community
- Investing in the registry infrastructure and platform
- Improving the core experience
