GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition leaked: NVIDIA’s first 16-pin power connector

Like many GeForce RTX 30 series mid-to-high-end graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti will also have a Founders Edition.

At the CES 2022 exhibition at the beginning of the year, Nvidia made the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition show up. With the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti coming to store shelves, VideoCardz has exposed more photos of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition. This card retains the three-slot thickness design, and the overall size is similar to the GeForce RTX 3090 Founders Edition. It is equipped with a GA102-350 GPU and GDDR6X memory with a rate of 21 Gbps and uses Micron’s new 2GB module.

GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is the first graphics card equipped with a 12+4Pin new 12VHPWR power supply interface, replacing the previous NVIDIA 12Pin Molex MicroFit 3.0 interface. The 12Pin Molex MicroFit 3.0 interface first appeared in the GeForce RTX 30 series unveiled in 2020, but it is mainly used on Founders Edition graphics cards. Generally, manufacturers still use two or three 8Pin external power supply interfaces. With Intel’s introduction of the ATX 3.0 specification, it is believed that the 12VHPWR interface will become common on graphics cards.

Although the TDP of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition is 450W, some non-public versions may have a higher TDP. It is understood that the TDP of some brands of GeForce RTX 3090 Ti has reached 480W, and may even exceed 500W. It is understood that the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition uses the new PCIe 5.0 power supply interface and the power supply provided by the PCIe slot, with a combined maximum power of 525W.

As for the suggested retail price of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, it is unclear for the time being. There are mentions of $1,499, $1,999, or even $2,399, but it will not be clear until the release. Tomorrow is March 29, and the answer will be revealed soon.
