AMD launched the RX 6500/6400 XT graphics cards earlier this month, and Nvidia launched the GeForce RTX 3050, which cost $249. AMD and Nvidia have launched these low-cost and cheap graphics cards to give back to users, especially AMD deliberately suppresses the mining performance of the RX 6500 XT. However, even if the two graphics card manufacturers intend to lower the entry price, it will not help, because the shortage of graphics cards and mining problems make many merchants choose to sell at a high premium. It is basically impossible for end consumers to buy these graphics cards at the original price. After all, even if the merchants sell at a premium, there will still be miners willing to pay.
The NVIDIA RTX 3050 8GB version will be available for sale on January 27. The official suggested retail price of this graphics card is $249, and some merchants have begun to promote it. For example, the price given by Japanese merchants for pre-distribution promotion is 50,138 yen or about $400, which is 147% of the official suggested retail price.
The AMDR RX 6500 XT 4GB will go on sale on January 19, with an official suggested retail price of $199. Some French sellers listed a price of 299 euros. Even after deducting European VAT, the price is still more than 40% of the suggested price.
If you think that the premium rate is close to 50%, it is already very high, but in fact, the premium rate of the average sales price of all graphics cards of NVIDIA and AMD is currently more than 85%. It has to be said that the current graphics card prices are so crazy that even if manufacturers intend to introduce cheap entry-level graphics cards, it is difficult for players to buy graphics cards at the original price.
