Firefox Preview adds support for extensions
Firefox Preview is a new Android web browser launched by Mozilla in the first half of 2019. The browser’s rendering engine, GeckoView, was developed by Mozilla itself. By separating the GeckoView engine from Firefox applications, the development team created an updated, faster, and easier method to maintain and develop Firefox Preview for Android.
In the latest update to the Firefox Preview Nightly release, developers have added support for extensions. However, only one extension can be installed at this stage, the ad blocker uBlock Origin.

As the next generation of Firefox browses for Android, Mozilla has been working to align the functionality of the Firefox Preview with the existing Android Firefox, and one of its previous missing features was extended support.
Earlier, Mozilla had announced plans to launch WebExtension support in Firefox Preview in early 2020, and the current progress seems to be in line with the plan. In the coming period, Firefox Preview will complete the extension architecture and further implement the WebExtension interface, and extensions will be more widely supported.
To test the extension, you need to install the Firefox Preview Nightly version, enter the menu’s Add-ons Manager, click the plus sign, and then accept the license to install and activate the extension. However, this feature is still in the early development stage, this is the first version to support extensions, and maybe not everything will run smoothly.
