Cybersecurity Breach Forces London Drugs Closures

The Canadian pharmacy chain London Drugs has closed all its retail stores following the discovery of a cybersecurity incident. The event, which affected the company’s systems, occurred on April 28.

In response, the company urgently implemented a series of measures to protect its network and data and sought assistance from leading cybersecurity experts to localize the threat and conduct a comprehensive investigation.

Representatives of London Drugs have stated that there is currently no evidence that customer or employee data was compromised as a result of the attack. The company has assured that should any personal data breaches be detected, they will promptly notify the affected individuals and the relevant authorities following privacy laws.

The pharmacy chain urges customers in need of urgent pharmaceutical services to seek assistance at other nearby pharmacies to address their needs. The company has not yet reported the incident to the relevant authorities, as there are no signs of compromise involving the personal or medical information of customers or employees.

London Drugs employs over 9,000 staff members who provide pharmaceutical and medical services at more than 80 locations across Western Canada, including the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
