Chinese cryptocurrency miners bypass NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 hash rate limiter and restore performance to 45MH/S
In order to curb the purchase of graphics cards for mining by miners, Nvidia previously announced measures to limit the mining performance of RTX 3060 graphics cards to 50%.
After the performance is reduced, it is not very cost-effective for Ethereum miners to continue to use the graphics card for mining. Although they can continue to make money, their income will drop by 50%.
However, the bull market in cryptocurrency is bound to allow miners to exhaustive methods to crack or bypass Nvidia restrictions to maximize their benefits.
There are already rumors that Chinese miners have successfully bypassed the NVIDIA restriction and restored the mining performance of the RTX 3060 graphics card from 25MH/S to 45MH/S.
When Nvidia detects that the user is performing a mining operation through firmware and algorithms, it will automatically reduce the performance of the graphics card so that the actual mining performance of the miner is also reduced.
Specifically, NVIDIA conducts a secure handshake between the graphics card, the driver, and the BIOS, and each part will actively detect the mining algorithm.
Nvidia said that it is confident to solve the mining problem of RTX 3060, but Nvidia also knows that there are some complicated methods that can bypass mining restrictions.
The graphics card’s original mining power for Ethereum was about 45MH/S. After being actively restricted by Nvidia, the mining performance actually dropped to about 25MH/S.
However, the user will not be subject to performance limitations for any other operations, such as playing games or conducting neural network training, NVIDIA can play the best results.
The picture posted by Twitter netizens shows that Chinese miners have bypassed Nvidia’s restrictions in some way, which makes the RTX 3060 mining performance once again restored to 45MH/S.
The picture shows that this miner uses 8 RTX 3060 graphics cards, each with a computing power of 45MH/S, and the total computing power of this miner reaches 362.75MH/S.
There are also miners in the Facebook group of Vietnamese miners who have confirmed that it can be bypassed, and it seems that Vietnamese miners have also obtained this method to bypass NVIDIA restrictions.
This will make the graphics card market that is already out of stock worse, and it is almost impossible for ordinary players to buy new NVIDIA cards at normal prices.
