Avira antivirus also added the cryptomining function
Norton 360 antivirus suite has started to launch the mining function. When the user enables this function, the graphics card will be automatically called to participate in the mining of Ethereum. In fact, Norton 360 has launched the mining function for a long time, but it was only tested for a small number of users before. Recently, Norton has provided this function to all users to earn income. It is worth noting that Avira antivirus did not say in advance that it would add the mining function, so some users of Avira would be a little surprised when they saw the mining function. Of course, Norton 360 and Avira antivirus still decide whether to enable the mining function according to the user’s wishes. If the user does not manually confirm the activation, they will not be automatically mined.
“Avira Crypto allows you to use your computer’s idle time to mine the cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH),” the FAQ explains. “Since cryptomining requires a high level of processing power, it is not suitable for users with an average computer. Even with compatible hardware, mining cryptocurrencies on your own can be less rewarding. Your best option is to join a mining pool that shares their computer power to improve their chance of mining cryptocurrency. The rewards are then distributed evenly to all members in the pool.”
Norton has detailed the relevant rules after providing the mining function, including calling the graphics card when the system is idle and performing load optimization to mine Ethereum. By default, Norton will connect to the self-built mining pool for mining, and users can also connect to other mining pools such as cryptocurrency exchange mining pools if they wish. Considering the issue of transfer rates, it is actually better for users to directly connect to the cryptocurrency exchange mining pool. If you mine Ethereum, you can directly sell it without transfer fees.
Although Avira also automatically downloads the mining module, there is no detailed description, although there is also a special mining pool for Avira, the proportion of the draw is not clear. If you really want to try it yourself, you can use other open-source mining software, and you can use it with a simple configuration without paying a commission to Norton.
