Avast/AVG extension return Chrome Store/Firefox addon

After adjustments to Avast Online Security, Avast SafePrice, AVG Online Security, and AVG SafePrice, these four extensions return in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera’s extension store. The reasons for their previous delisting were due to illegal collection of user data. Researcher wrote:

When Avast Online Security extension is active, it will request information about your visited websites from an Avast server. In the process, it will transmit data that allows reconstructing your entire web browsing history and much of your browsing behavior. The amount of data being sent goes far beyond what’s necessary for the extension to function, especially if you compare to competing solutions such as Google Safe Browsing.

Starting today, these extensions are back in the major extension store for users to download and use. It’s unclear what adjustments Avast made in order to get the extensions back on the shelves.
