Asus unveils ROG Swift Pro PG248QP monitor with 540Hz refresh rate

ASUS launched the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP gaming monitor at the CES 2023 show. The refresh rate of the PG248QP has reached 540Hz.

In the pursuit of the highest refresh rate of the display, ASUS ROG has always been one of the best. In 2012, ASUS released the world’s first 144Hz monitor, which has become a common specification for high refresh rate monitors today. In 2017, ASUS continued to release the first 240Hz NVIDIA G-SYNC display, and in 2021 it brought the first 360Hz monitor. Now the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP launched by ASUS has a refresh rate of 540Hz.

ROG Swift Pro PG248QP
ROG Swift Pro PG248QP uses a 24.1-inch Esports TN (E-TN) panel, designed for professional gamers to play their best, with a resolution of 1920*1080. Its screen refresh rate can reach up to 540Hz through OC and supports Nvidia G-SYNC, and built-in ESS DAC, which reduces audio latency and enhances virtual surround effects, gunshots, and footsteps. The PG248QP monitor adopts a new stand design. The feet of the stand pop out and lock into place, providing a wide base for support or folding in for a more compact footprint on your desk. This allows your keyboard and mouse to get closer to the display and get you truly in the zone, so you never miss your shot.

One of the reasons why PG248QP can have an astonishing 540Hz refresh rate is that it uses a TN panel. The most obvious advantage of a TN panel display is its native high response speed and high refresh rate. TN monitors are also a common choice for FPS gamers and even FPS e-sports players, but in terms of color performance and visual effects, the performance of TN monitors is relatively average.

ASUS has not yet announced the pricing of the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP.
