ASUS ROG laptop equipped with Ryzen 9 7945HX3D appeared

In recent years, the most commendable technological advancement by AMD in the realm of processors, many would agree, is the 3D Vertical Cache (3D V-Cache) technology. Earlier reports suggested that with the commencement of sales for the Ryzen 7000X3D series processors based on the Zen 4 architecture for desktop platforms, AMD may continue to broaden the application scope of the 3D V-Cache, potentially permeating into the mobile platform sphere.

Recently, tech enthusiasts have uncovered that ASUS’s laptop equipped with the Ryzen 9 7945H3XD processor has appeared on the inventory lists of various retailers. This gaming laptop, dubbed the ROG STRIX SCAR 17, carries the product code “G733PYV-LL046W”, and by the processor model alone, it is clear that this is a mobile processor employing the 3D Vertical Cache technology.

While neither AMD nor ASUS has disclosed detailed information regarding the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, it was mentioned that it boasts a 128MB L3 cache, an evidently distinctive feature of the X3D series products. At present, the ROG STRIX SCAR 17 seems to be the only laptop deploying the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D processor, leading to speculation that it may be an exclusive product resulting from a collaboration between ASUS and AMD.

In addition to the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D processor, the ROG STRIX SCAR 17 also features a 17.3-inch screen, is furnished with 32GB of DDR5 memory and 2TB SSD, and is equipped with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 mobile graphics card. Such a combination could indeed be declared as one of the most potent gaming laptops currently available in the market.

British dealers have already displayed the price for the ROG STRIX SCAR 17, showing a tax-inclusive price of £3904.79 (equivalent to approximately ¥36045.32), evidently making it one of the priciest products of its kind in the market.
