ASRock BIOS Update Targets Intel CPU Stability
Asus recently updated the BIOS for its Z790/Z690 series motherboards, introducing a feature named “Intel Baseline Profile,” which resets all configurations to Intel’s recommended default settings to address stability issues in gaming with the 13th and 14th generation Core processors. Following this, Gigabyte and MSI also introduced their respective solutions; Gigabyte released a new BIOS with the “Turbo Power Limit” feature, while MSI published a BIOS guide to assist users encountering instability with Intel Core i9-13900K/14900K processors.
ASRock has now become the latest motherboard manufacturer to offer a solution for gaming stability issues with the 13th and 14th generation Core processors. It has introduced a beta version of BIOS for its Z790 and B760 series motherboards, supporting the “Intel Baseline Profile” feature.
According to Intel, the problem may be related to operations exceeding specifications, leading to sustained high voltages and frequencies during periods of high temperatures. Intel strongly advises that customer default BIOS settings should ensure operation within Intel’s recommended settings. ASRock is also aiming to enhance system stability during gaming by limiting power consumption.
Intel previously issued a preliminary statement to the press, attributing the responsibility for these issues to motherboard and system manufacturers. They stated that they are continuing active investigations to determine the root cause and confirmed that by May, they would issue a public statement regarding the status of the problem and Intel’s recommended BIOS settings.
