Apple to unveil 15.5-inch MacBook Air next year

Apple released a new MacBook Air at the WWDC 2022 Developer Conference, with a new design and a monitor that has increased from 13.3 inches to 13.6 inches. At the same time, it is equipped with a new generation of M2 chips, which opened the prelude to the M2 series chips.

Recently, some analysts said that Apple is likely to start producing the 15.5-inch panel used by the MacBook Air in the first quarter of next year. This will be the largest display used by the MacBook Air so far, and the corresponding new product will be released in the spring of next year. The 15.5-inch MacBook Air will follow the design language of the 13.6-inch version, with flat edges, a larger touchpad, a keyboard with function keys, etc. Apple will also upgrade the speakers and front-facing camera.

In addition to the M2 chip, the 15.5-inch MacBook Air may also provide the M2 Pro option, which will bring stronger performance and will have a larger capacity battery, which should have better battery life. It was previously reported that Apple’s M2 Pro and M2 Max are likely to be TSMC’s first chips using the N3 process, and Apple will launch Mac products with new chips next year. However, there have been frequent reports of TSMC’s N3 process delay recently, coupled with weak consumer demand, it is not yet clear about Apple’s specific product timetable.
