Apple currently has no plans to introduce its own game controller

Barring the introduction of more comfortable headband accessories for the Vision Pro and crown accessories to help distribute weight, it appears that Apple has no immediate plans to launch additional control accessories, nor does it currently plan to support third-party control accessories.

According to information obtained by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple currently has no plans to introduce its own game controller. Consequently, during previous demonstrations of the Apple TV 4K and the Vision Pro, they utilized the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.

Moreover, Apple has yet to plan dedicated control accessories for the Vision Pro and is not prepared to support third-party control accessories. Primarily, interactions are carried out through gestures and gaze recognition.

During the development of Vision Pro, Apple seems to have tested control accessories of virtual reality devices like HTC VIVE and even those worn on the hand. However, none of these could meet Apple’s requirements for intuitive operation and a lightweight user experience. Therefore, Apple ultimately stuck to natural gestures, voice recognition, and gaze tracking as methods for users to simply interact with virtual visual scenes and objects.
