An AMD mining card with Navi 21 core appears in Vietnam
In addition to shortages and price increases in the past year, cryptocurrencies mining has probably been a headache for many users. Since the cryptocurrency market has soared, it has become more difficult to buy a graphics card of your choice. Miners are snapping up new graphics cards on the market, and there is even a situation where a card is hard to find. In order to stabilize the supply of the GeForce RTX 30 series, Nvidia has launched a mining-specific CMP HX series. On the other hand, a cryptocurrency mining limiter was added to the GeForce graphics card, and finally, the GeForce RTX 30 LHR series was launched.
In this generation of graphics cards, mining is more related to Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. AMD Radeon RX 6000 series is not the first choice of miners. In addition to the larger supply of NVIDIA GPUs, it is also related to the fact that RDNA 2 architecture graphics cards are not as efficient as Ampere architecture graphics cards in terms of mining efficiency. However, Twitter user @I_Leak_VN found that a PC hardware store in Vietnam showed an AMD mining card on Facebook, a product of XFX. The size and capacitor layout surface on the back is equipped with Navi 21 GPU, and there are two 8Pin external power ports at the rear.
This card uses a pure black radiator, which seems to be a passive heat dissipation structure, with a dual-slot specification. Most of the similar cards are installed on the server. Although it looks a bit like AMD’s Radeon Pro series for Mac Pro, the lack of display output means that it is likely to be a computing card or a GPU for applications such as cloud games on a server or a server mining card. AMD has already determined to use the CDNA series architecture to produce Instinct computing cards, and the RDNA series architecture GPUs will not be used as computing cards.
As early as March of this year, the Linux kernel update revealed that AMD may be developing a mining card based on the RDNA series architecture, but then there was no news. The store that released this card said that specific mining performance data and pricing will be announced later.
