AMD officially announced Ryzen 9 5900 & Ryzen 7 5800

AMD Zen 3 architecture Ryzen 5000 series desktop family has always only four models of Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 9 5900X, Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 5 5600X, which have 16, 12, 8, and 6 cores respectively.

Today, AMD has added two new members to the Ryzen 5000 series. The specifications are very attractive, especially the thermal power consumption is very low, but unfortunately, it is exclusively for OEM customers and will not be retail.

The first is “Ryzen 9 5900”, 12 cores and 24 threads, L2 cache 6MB, L3 cache 64MB, base frequency 3.0GHz, maximum boost clock 4.7GHz, features a 65 Watt TDP figure.

Compared with Ryzen 9 5900X, its base frequency is greatly reduced by 700MHz, and the boost clock is only 100MHz lower. The TDP comes to 65W, and of course, it no longer supports overclocking.

Followed by “Ryzen 7 5800”, 8 cores 16 threads, L2 cache 4MB, L3 cache 32MB, base frequency 3.4GHz, boot clock 4.6GHz, features a 65 Watt TDP figure.
Compared to Ryzen 7 5800X, its basic and boot clock is lower by 400MHz and 100MHz, respectively, and the TDP is also reduced to 65W, naturally, it does not support overclocking.
Ryzen 9 5900, Ryzen 7 5800, and the previous generation Ryzen 9 3900 are all 65W, 12 cores, and the same is not retail, only OEM machine. For example, the Ryzen version of the Dell Alienware Aurora R10 series host is already available.
