AMD mobile workstation roadmap confirmed that Zen 3+ architecture will be released next year

In the past period of time, there have been many rumors of AMD’s next-generation processor plans on the Internet. There are two main products involved in the mobile platform, one is the APU code-named Van Gogh, and the other is the APU code-named Rembrandt. The positioning of the two is different.

According to the slide leaked by Twitter user @Broly_X1, the APU codenamed Van Gogh and Dragon Crest will be used on high-end mobile workstations or other handheld devices. This is the first time that the positioning of these chips is known. Dragon Crest is likely to have updated some features on the basis of Van Gogh, but the architecture is similar. Both adopt Zen 2 architecture core and RDNA 2 architecture core. It also supports LPDDR5 memory, manufactured by 7nm process, and TDP is 9W. According to the leaker, Van Gogh has now been canceled.

Most users may be more interested in the APU code named Rembrandt, which will replace the current Cezanne in the future. One of the major changes in Rembrandt is that it will be equipped with a core of the RDNA 2 architecture to replace the Vega architecture that has been used for a long time. It will also support PCIe Gen4 and DDR5 memory. It will be manufactured using a 6nm process and replaced with an FP7 socket.

Rembrandt, Dragon Crest, and Barcelo will all be launched in 2022. AMD is likely to be similar to the past two years, releasing new products for the next generation of mobile platforms at the CES show in January.
