AMD is preparing Radeon RX 7650M XT
Recently, a manufacturer announced a preview of the Radeon RX 7650M XT mobile graphics card dock, expected to launch in July this year. This marks the debut of the Radeon RX 7650M XT, though the manufacturer has not disclosed the new card’s specifications. Rumors suggest it is akin to the “One Number GPU ONEXGPU” and will come in different versions, implying variations in TGP or memory configurations.
According to VideoCardz, the Radeon RX 7650M XT mobile graphics card dock supports Oculink connectivity and offers an HDMI port, two DP ports, three USB Type-A ports, and a USB Type-C port. It features an 8-phase power supply design and includes four GDDR6 memory modules.
Although AMD introduced the Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards for mobile platforms quite some time ago, few products have been seen in the market. The Radeon RX 7600/7700 series is equipped with Navi 33, while the Radeon RX 7900M uses Navi 31XL. The naming of the new graphics card suggests a minor upgrade, likely still incorporating Navi 33, with limited performance improvements anticipated.
At CES 2023, AMD unveiled the Radeon RX 7600M XT and Radeon RX 7600M, targeting gamers with 32 CUs and 28 CUs respectively, corresponding to 2048 and 1792 stream processors. Both feature 32MB of second-generation Infinity Cache and 8GB of GDDR6 memory with a 128-bit memory interface. The former has memory speeds of 18 Gbps and 16 Gbps. Additionally, the Radeon RX 7600M XT’s power consumption ranges from 75W to 120W, while the Radeon RX 7600M ranges from 50W to 90W.
After more than a year, AMD appears to be updating its mainstream mobile graphics card lineup based on the RNDA 3 architecture, potentially offering new products as more affordable options for consumers. It is also possible that the Radeon RX 7650M XT will be exclusively for the external graphics card dock market. More details are likely to be revealed at Computex 2024.
