AMD FSR3 technology can double the frame rate, Hyper-RX technology reduces latency
At the launch of AMD’s Radeon RX 7000 series graphics card today, AMD updated FSR version 2.2, mainly to upgrade the picture quality. It will first be launched in “Forza Motorsport: Horizon 5” on November 8, and there will be 216 games to provide support, and they also announced the next generation of FSR 3 technology.
AMD said that FSR 3 is about to introduce the Unreal 5 Engine. In a live demonstration, the Radeon RX 7000 was able to hit 60FPS with FSR 2, but with FSR 3 the frame rate was boosted to 112FPS, and according to AMD, the new FSR can improve performance by up to 2x.
FSR3 will support fluid motion frame technology, but no specific details have been announced, but it may be similar to the frame generation technology in DLSS 3. As for when FSR3 will be launched by AMD, there is no specific time given, only that it will be launched next year.
In addition, AMD will also launch a tool to reduce game latency, called HYPER-RX, which can optimize performance and improve latency with one click. In the “Dying Light 2” game demonstration, the game’s frame rate was increased by 85%, and the game delay was reduced by 2/3, from 30ms to 11ms, which should be the technology that is the benchmark with NVIDIA Reflex.
