AMD confirms that Radeon RX 470/480 supports FidelityFX Super Resolution

During Computex, AMD’s global vice president of Radeon Gaming Products General Manager Scott Herkelman said that FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) will support many Radeon RX 500 / RX Vega / RX 5000 / RX 6000 series graphics cards,

including APU based on Vega architecture will also be supported.
AMD head Mickey Molad said that AMD is updating the list of AMD graphics cards compatible with FidelityFX Super Resolution. The list will include Radeon RX 480 / RX 470, and the information on the website is expected to be updated soon.
However, the statement did not confirm whether graphics cards like Radeon RX 550 / RX 560 can also support FidelityFX Super Resolution. In addition, as a cross-platform technology supported by DirectX12, DirectX11, and Vulkan API, even if Intel’s integrated graphics or NVIDIA’s entry-level GPU wants to support it, it should be possible. Raja Koduri, Intel’s senior vice president, chief architect, and general manager of the architecture, graphics, and software division, expressed interest in FidelityFX Super Resolution on his Twitter account, which may be used in the upcoming Xe-HPG architecture GPU in the future.
The launch of FidelityFX Super Resolution has aroused many discussions, proving that this technology is highly anticipated. However, some people have raised doubts. Official videos and pictures show that after FidelityFX Super Resolution is enabled, the image quality has dropped significantly. Although the working conditions of different game engines or GPUs of different architectures may be different, it may also be considered that AMD will use it with other graphics technologies of its own, but it has caused worries. Recently, AMD and Epic have cooperated to optimize AMD’s GPU on Unreal Engine 5. For the time being, the dynamic picture effect is not so good.
