Alienware Aurora R16 features a new design, the highest optional i9-13900F+RTX 4080

Alienware, a subsidiary of Dell, has announced the introduction of its new Aurora R16 desktop, emphasizing two key areas of refinement: overall acoustics and heat management, and a fresh design language called “Legend 3”. The Aurora R16, a departure from the previous Aurora R15, embodies a compact aesthetic complemented by superior heat management and top-of-the-line hardware.

Despite merely altering one digit in the model name, the Aurora R16 presents a radically different design from its predecessor, the Aurora R15. The iconic curves and unconventional chassis have given way to a more traditional PC case. Alienware claims the optimized design yields a 20% reduction in noise, a 10% decrease in CPU temperature, and a 6% decline in GPU temperature. With overall dimensions of 458.4x197x418 mm and a weight of 15.374kg, the Aurora R16 not only saves on space but also optimizes its utilization. Its total volume has shrunk by approximately 40%, while the internal volume remains constant at 25.2L.

Another intriguing design feature is the “AlienFX Stadium Loop” situated on the front panel side, designed to guide air into the case and embellished with an RGB light strip. Alienware has also equipped the Aurora R16 with a 240mm all-in-one water cooler, and a 120mm fan mounted at the back of the case, both sporting RGB “AlienFX” lighting effects.

The Aurora R16’s motherboard features a 12-phase power supply, with a choice of Intel Core i9-13900F, Core i7-13700F, or Core i9-12900F processors. The graphics card options reach up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, and memory options include up to 64GB of DDR5-5200. Storage options extend up to 8TB (2x 4TB), and the machine supports Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5GbE connectivity. An 80 PLUS Platinum power supply is included, with rated power ranging from 500W to 1000W. It comes preloaded with Windows 11 Home OS and includes a one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The Aurora R16 is currently available for purchase on Dell’s North American official website, with a starting price of $1749.99.
