Age of Empires IV gets its Anniversary Update on October 25

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the real-time strategy game “Age of Empires IV” and the 25th anniversary of the “Age of Empires” series (the first game was released on October 28, 1997), Microsoft plans to release a free Anniversary Update that will introduce two new civilizations, Ottomans and Malians, which will be available on October 25, 2022.

Players can lead the Malians in West Africa to become one of the richest trading nations of all time while focusing on mining and gold investment to have a strong economy or lead the Ottoman civilization and its well-trained armies to form one of the longest-lasting empires in history, with the most powerful siege weapon, the Great Bombard.

Microsoft will provide a public update preview of Age of Empires IV next month, giving players an early taste of the new civilization and a slew of related updates. Players can sign up to become an Age Insider today, and Microsoft will email players when the public update preview begins.
