Adoble Flash Player will reach end-of-life soon

Adobe Flash Player is finally about to become history. Microsoft has confirmed that the next update of Windows 10 will automatically remove Flash Player. Adobe has released a new pop-up reminder to remind users to permanently delete the software.

In September 2020, Microsoft confirmed that it is developing a new automatic Windows update to remove Flash Player from the control panel and other areas, and released an optional update marked “Remove Adobe Flash Player Update”.

Microsoft and Adobe are planning to jointly withdraw support for Flash in early 2021. Before the deadline, Adobe has now begun to display pop-up notifications on Windows PCs for the user who are still using Flash Player.

Adobe said that security was the main reason for this decision and confirmed that even if the player is not manually deleted, Flash content will automatically stop working in January.

It should be noted that this pop-up window is not pushed to all devices, and is currently being rolled out gradually. It is likely to be promoted on a large scale through updates in the next three weeks. In addition to Adobe’s own reminders, Flash Player will also be deleted from the system after the update.
