Adobe Lightroom as a native Apple M1 and Win Arm app

To take advantage of the best performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Adobe has previously announced that it will redevelop Adobe Lightroom and other software through the ARM64 architecture instead of running it through the x86 emulator built into the Windows 10 ARM version.

Now that the native version of Adobe Lightroom ARM has been officially launched, Adobe said that the company has refactored the software through the ARM architecture. After the reconstruction, it can play the best performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Users in need can download it on the official Adobe Lightroom website for Windows on ARM special edition.

It is worth noting that Adobe also prepared a native version for the Apple M1 chip. Of course, the M1 chip is also of the ARM architecture. Therefore, for Adobe, the workload of adapting to the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and the Apple M1 processor should not be too large. After all, after a version of the refactoring, most of the code can be reused instead of redeveloping.

MacBook equipped with an M1 chip also has an emulator that can run Adobe Lightroom, but the performance and experience will be slightly worse. Adobe said that the current version of Adobe Lightroom for ARM and M1 chips is still the initial version and will continue to be improved in the future.

In addition, the free Adobe Lightroom Starter plan is now available for desktops including macOS and Windows, while Adobe Lightroom, which requires a subscription, is available for Windows, macOS, Intel, ARM, Android, iOS, and Web versions.
