Photoshop is a very popular image editing software. Adobe announced the launch of Photoshop for the web in October last year, which provides some basic functions, that is, users do not need to download and install the app client, and can directly edit images or create content on the web version. However, if users want to use advanced functions, they still need to download the app client, and Adobe Photoshop for the web is only available to subscribers, but that’s changing.
According to The Verge, Adobe is currently testing a free web version of Photoshop for all users. The current testing area is Canada. If the user’s Adobe account is in Canada, then log in to the web version to use it.
Adobe is closing some features that were originally only available to subscription users, that is, free users can now get more features to meet their needs. Of course, even so, if users want to perform complex operations, they still have to download the Photoshop app.
The Photoshop web version itself is positioned as a collaboration tool rather than a simple editing tool. Therefore, in the previous version, the Photoshop web version only allows uploading documents from the local area and cannot create new documents directly in the web version. However, this restriction has now been lifted.
In the future, Photoshop will provide more functions for the web version to meet user needs. Most of the core functions are currently available, and we will wait and see what other functions will follow.
