A certain Intel Xe-HPG DG2 appeared in the GFXBench database
Intel will release their Xe-HPG series of discrete graphics cards during CES next year. This is not the Iris Xe MAX currently on laptops that can only be used to speed up video editing, but a serious desktop game graphics card.
At present, Intel Xe-HPG DG2 GPU has appeared in GFXBench’s database (via TUM_APISAK). In fact, the software did not recognize its model, it just wrote Intel Xe Graphics, but its performance is 2.5 times that of Iris Xe MAX, which can only be Xe- HPG alone. Iris Xe MAX has 96 groups of EU units and 768 stream processors. From the performance point of view, this graphics card looks like a variant of DG2 with 256 or 192 groups of EU. The desktop unique graphic card has a higher power limit, so its frequency will definitely be much higher than that of Iris Xe MAX. The video memory should also use GDDR6 instead of LPDDR4 on Iris Xe MAX.
After all, Intel is definitely still in the testing stage. It is not known what its frequency and power are, and the optimization of the driver will also have a great impact on the performance of the graphics card. There are too many unknowns at present. So we can’t make a statement about its performance.
And regardless of whether the graphics card is 256 EUs or 192 EUs, it is the mainstream product at most. The entry-level of Xe-HPG DG2 is 128/96 EUs, similar to the current Iris Xe MAX, the medium level is equipped with 384 groups of EU, top products have up to 512 groups of EU.
