3DMark launches Wild Life Extreme cross-platform benchmark
Last year UL Benchmarks launched a cross-platform testing tool 3DMark Wild Life, which can be used to compare the graphics performance of the latest Apple, Android, and Windows devices. This testing tool has a relatively low load. Now they have launched a higher load 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, increase the test resolution from 2560*1440 to 3840*2160.
3DMark Wild Life Extreme is a cross-platform benchmark that can be used to test the graphics performance of the latest Windows notebooks, Always Connected PCs with Windows 10 Arm, Apple Macs with M1 chips, and next-generation smartphones and tablets. It uses Vulkan API on Android and Windows, Metal on iOS and Mac, and DirectX12 on Windows 10 Arm. Players can compare scores across platforms and APIs.
3DMark Wild Life Extreme includes new effects, enhanced geometry, and more particles, making it three times higher than the Wild Life benchmark and supports resolution scaling. The test rendering resolution is 3840*2160. This test is for the next generation. Android and iOS devices set very high standards, so don’t be surprised if the test result frame rate is very low, because the test load is too heavy for current mobile phones and tablets.
3DMark Wild Life Extreme has two test items, one is the benchmark, which can reflect the game performance provided by the device in a period of time, and the other is the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test, which can feedback the device’s performance under a longer period of time. For game performance, the stress test not only displays a single score but also gives you a chart to show you the performance changes of the device during the test, allowing you to better understand the performance and heating status of the device.
