Microsoft confirms the latest Windows 10 cumulative update break down IE
Although Microsoft will release a routine cumulative update this month next week, there have been some problems with the cumulative update last month that has just been confirmed by Microsoft. Previously, some users installed a cumulative update and found that opening the IE browser will cause an abnormal situation, which is caused by Microsoft’s adjustment of the built-in search add-on. However, the current users of IE browser don’t open IE browser, and Microsoft has provided temporary solutions for users to use.
When the Windows 10 from Version 1607 to Version1809 users install the cumulative update last month, the IE browser will start abnormally and cause the startup to fail. The specific reason is that Microsoft’s cumulative update removes the default search add-on for Internet Explorer. Of course, this removal is an unexpected problem and is not Microsoft’s original intention. To solve this problem, users can start IE browser through the command line, open the browser and then manually set the search program add-on to restore normal.

Open the browser, click the gear button in the upper right corner, click Manage Add-ons, and then click the search engine option in the search provider to save the settings. If there is no default search add-on, click Add Add-ons in the lower left corner, then select the search engine you need on the Microsoft website and add it. Microsoft is expected to fix this issue in the cumulative update next week, and users who are temporarily experiencing this issue can use a temporary method to resolve the issue.
