Unlock Your CPU’s True Potential with Der8auer’s AM5 Mycro Direct Die Cooler

Renowned overclocker Der8auer has crafted a device called the AM5 Mycro Direct Die Cooler, a direct-touch CPU water block, which in tests has reduced the temperature of an overclocked Ryzen 9 7900X from 90 degrees (using a 280mm AIO) to 65 degrees. The non-RGB version is priced at 100 Euros, while the RGB version retails for 130-140 Euros.

This water block directly contacts the chip, necessitating the removal of the original IHS (integrated heat spreader), to address the heat accumulation issues arising from the high transistor density and thick heat spreader of the Ryzen 7000 series.

The AM5 Mycro Direct Die Cooler’s surface is manufactured using diamond polishing, providing the heat sink with an increased surface area, and ensuring that its design is not prone to bending due to clamping pressure.

In comparative tests with a Ryzen 9 7900X overclocked to 5GHz (with a core voltage of 1.3v), Der8auer utilized various cooling solutions, including a 280mm AIO and open-loop water cooling. The AM5 Mycro Direct Die Cooler emerged victorious, achieving a maximum temperature of less than 65 degrees.
