The new Russia’s law will force Apple to pre-install local apps on iOS devices

Apple has agreed to abide by the new laws passed by Russia and pre-install well-known local Russian apps on iOS devices.

Earlier new laws passed in Russia require that electronic products, including smartphones, tablets, computers, and TV boxes, must be pre-installed with local applications.

If it is not pre-installed, it will not be able to obtain a sales permit and cannot be sold in Russia. Obviously, Apple’s iPhone and iPad, and other electronic devices are also included.

The new law will force all manufacturers to comply, even Apple must abide by the law otherwise it will not be able to sell various electronic products in Russia.

Apple has agreed to abide by the new laws passed by Russia, and the company plans to pre-install local applications on its devices from April 1.

According to the agreement between Apple and the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, if the Apple series of devices are activated in Russia, they will automatically install Russian applications.

The pre-installed applications here are actually the Yandex apps after all, including search engines, map navigation, browsers, news, and e-mail.
