Seagate launches Lightsaber Collection Special Edition FireCuda PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD

The paramount attribute of NVMe SSDs is their speed, yet not everyone is particularly sensitive to the speed of an SSD. In fact, numerous PCIe 4.0 SSDs currently exceed many users’ expectations in terms of speed, prompting manufacturers to explore alternative embellishments. Some focus on enhancing heat sinks or incorporating RGB lighting; now, Seagate presents a special offering for Star Wars enthusiasts: a Lightsaber Edition FireCuda PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD.

This Lightsaber Edition FireCuda SSD boasts official licensing from Lucasfilm. The SSD’s heat sink features a striking black design with a prominent Star Wars lightsaber on the front. Three distinct lightsabers represent Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker. Users can interchange the SSD’s front panel according to their preferences, with the illuminated section consisting of RGB LEDs. By connecting to the motherboard’s ARGB port, users can customize the lighting color to correspond with different panels.

Employing a PCIe 4.0 interface and 3D TLC NAND flash, this SSD delivers up to 7,300MB/s of sequential read speeds, available in 1TB and 2TB capacities. The 1TB model boasts a write speed of 6,000MB/s, while the 2TB model reaches 6,900MB/s. Durability is rated at 1,275TBW per terabyte, and the custom heat sink effectively dissipates heat to maintain stable SSD operation. The SSD comes with a five-year warranty and three years of Rescue data recovery services. The 1TB version is priced at $184.99, and the 2TB model at $289.99.
