Samsung Exynos 1000 is not as good as Snapdragon 875
Earlier, we reported that Samsung and ARM and AMD have joined forces to create a new generation of Exynos chips, with the intention of seizing the vacant market share after Huawei’s Hisilicon Kirin exits the high-end smartphone chip market.
Therefore, the outside world has begun to pay special attention to Samsung’s Exynos chip research and development and has high hopes for the Exynos 1000 chip that Samsung will launch in 2021.
It was reported some time ago that an Exynos chip is equipped with AMD’s GPU, and its running score exceeds the Adreno 6 GPU equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, so some media believe that Exynos 1000 will be equipped with AMD’s GPU.
However, it was later confirmed that this matter was just a big rumor because this chip was only used by Samsung for testing and will not be launched in 2021, that is, this chip has nothing to do with Exynos 1000.
It is expected that next year's Exynos1000 will still lose to Snapdragon 875, whether it is CPU or GPU, but it is certain that the gap is narrowing. Samsung adopt AMD GPU in 2022, but at the same time Qualcomm will also significantly update GPU to Adreno7, so everything is possi

Today, Ice Universe, familiar with Samsung’s internal product plans, broke the news that Exynos 1000’s CPU and GPU are still not enough to defeat the Snapdragon 875, but the gap between the two is narrowing. At the same time, Samsung plans to equip Exynos chips with AMD’s GPU in 2022. Qualcomm also plans to launch a new Adreno 7 GPU in 2022, so the GPU competition between the two is still full of variables.
However, Ice Universe also said that although the performance of Exynos 1000 does not exceed Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, the power consumption of the Exynos chip will be significantly improved compared to the previous Exynos chip.
