Pro Max Makes its Mark: King of iPhone 15 Shipments in 2024

In a recent analysis on Medium, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo discussed that in the first half of 2024, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is anticipated to dominate the iPhone 15 series shipments, accounting for 40% to 45%. The exclusive upgrades of the 6.7-inch model may enhance its popularity, which bodes well for Apple’s lens supplier, Largan, potentially boosting its revenue in the first and second quarters of 2024.

While Kuo did not disclose the projected shipment volume of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, he mentioned that Largan is expected to receive an increased number of orders for quad-reflection prisms from Apple in the first quarter of this year. He suggests that, compared to the first half of 2023, the periscope lens business alone could increase the manufacturer’s revenue by $119.3 to $133.4 million. Based on this data, Largan is poised to achieve a 20-25% year-over-year revenue growth in the first quarter.

Rumors suggest that both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max flagship models will feature telephoto lenses and will also be equipped with quad-reflection prisms. If these speculations hold, Largan will once again secure the majority of orders, potentially leading to a revenue increase in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Although the high demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is unsurprising, it is unexpected that the iPhone 15 Pro, with similar specifications, lags far behind in popularity. Wccftech speculates that consumers have long anticipated telephoto lenses on iPhones, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s advantages in screen and battery capacity over the iPhone 15 Pro may contribute to its greater appeal. However, Wccftech predicts that there will still be differences in the imaging systems of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which will influence their popularity.
