Nvidia will hold a GeForce Beyond event at CES 2023

Nvidia announced on its Twitter account that the “GeForce Beyond” event will be officially held on January 3, which will bring GeForce RTX 4070 Ti desktop graphics cards and RTX 40 series laptop graphics cards.

Regarding the RTX 4070 Ti graphics card, it is generally believed that this is the RTX 4080 12GB graphics card that was canceled 2 months ago. In the early days, RTX 4080 had two versions, corresponding to 12GB and 16GB of video memory, of which 12GB had 7680 CUDA cores, while 16GB had 9728 CUDA cores. Perhaps Nvidia realized that although both are RTX 4080, the performance of the two different specifications is also different, so Nvidia canceled the 12GB version of the RTX 4080, and this version was released with a new name, the RTX 4070 Ti.

Regarding the laptops with RTX 40 series mobile graphics cards, as Nvidia officially launched the RTX 40 series mobile graphics cards, major notebook computer manufacturers will also show their new notebooks. Recently, the performance scores of laptops equipped with RTX 4080 have appeared on Geekbench. Its notebook model is Predator PH16-71, which belongs to the Acer Predator series. From Geekbench’s OpenCL Information, the GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU has 58 SMs, and 7424 CUDA cores, with an acceleration frequency of 2.01GHz.

The OpenCL score of the previous generation mobile RTX 3080 Ti is 136008 points, and the OpenCL score of the new generation mobile RTX 4080 is 178038 points. The latter score has increased by 30%.
