Nintendo will add Game Boy And Game Boy Color to Switch Online

Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color are childhood memories of many people, and many games have also been talked about by many old players. After all, there are simulators on various platforms, and many of them are done perfectly, but whether it is easy to control is another matter. September of this year marks the third anniversary of the opening of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. There is news that Nintendo intends to provide new services.

According to Nintendo Life, in the latest “Nate the Hate” podcast, an insider revealed that Nintendo will add Game Boy and Game Boy Color games to the Switch Online subscription service in the next few weeks. In fact, as early as 2019, someone found that there were four emulators in the Nintendo NES program during the data unpacking process. Although the purpose of individual emulators is still unclear, the third one ‘Hiyoko’ should be used to run Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.

Nintendo Life said that other sources also support this statement. Nintendo is indeed planning to expand the Switch Online subscription service, including the addition of Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. However, Nintendo Life did not share more details or reveal the specific source of the news. In contrast, insiders believe that Nintendo may not further add Game Boy Advance games, which is not optimistic.

The current Nintendo Switch Online subscription service includes Nintendo Entertainment System (NES/FC), and many classic games of Super NES (SNES), and they are constantly being added. Players can relive Nintendo’s many classic games on it. For Nintendo, which has countless treasures of IP, there is still much room for maneuverability in the future.
