MSI GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC has appeared

A fortnight ago, NVIDIA launched its new generation of mainstream GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, including the GeForce RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB models. The respective recommended retail prices are $299, $399, and $499. Of these, the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB has already been released, with the remaining models set to follow in July.

Although numerous graphics card manufacturers have announced the launch of the GeForce RTX 4060, further details remained elusive until Hardware Unboxed chanced upon the MSI GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC graphics card at Computex 2023, marking the first public appearance of an RTX 4060 product.

This MSI RTX 4060 bears a striking resemblance to the earlier RTX 4060 Ti VENTUS iteration, continuing its devotion to minimalist design principles. The unadorned exterior has been optimized, fitted with two Torx Fan 6.0, and bolstered by a reinforced backplate, making for a compact whole. MSI refrained from providing specific frequencies for the graphics card, which might be an OC model. There is ample time before the official launch to make adjustments. Some enthusiasts have expressed a desire for a further redesign into a single fan configuration, transforming it into a Mini-ITX specification graphics card.

The GeForce RTX 4060 employs the AD107-400 GPU, utilizes a PCIe 4.0 x8 interface, and has 24 SM units, or 3072 CUDA cores, paired with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. With a 128-bit memory bus, a memory speed of 17Gbps, and a memory bandwidth of 272 GB/s, the card consumes 115W. Its L2 cache is 24MB, increasing the effective memory bandwidth to 453 GB/s.
