Microsoft has closed several UserVoice feedback
More than ten years ago, it was difficult for companies that developed software to have the opportunity to communicate directly with software users, to understand what users suggested for software updates, or what bugs they encountered.
Therefore, an entrepreneur named Richard White discovered this opportunity, so the founding company developed software called UserVoice. Software companies can use UserVoice to create their own software pages. The overall logic of the page is similar to that of traditional forums. Users can post bug feedback or provide suggestions, and developers can freely reply to users’ questions.
For many years, Microsoft has also been using UserVoice, and many of its software have their own software homepages. However, Microsoft has quietly closed the UserVoice pages of software recently.
At present, Microsoft has closed the UserVoice homepage of Office 365, but the Office 365 support document says: “UserVoice is the official suggestion box for Microsoft Office. Click the link for the product you wish to leave feedback for below, then search to see if somebody else has already offered that feedback. If they have you can add your own comments and vote for their suggestion. Votes are a great way for users to indicate how important a particular idea or suggestion is to them.”
When the user visits the UserVoice homepage of Office 365 again, the above picture will be displayed, but when you click, the page will refresh instead of entering the feedback forum. However, the UserVoice homepages such as Microsoft To-Do and Teams have not been deleted, and users can still provide feedback on this software.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, Microsoft has re-recognized the huge potential of the consumer market and therefore stated that it will pay more attention to the consumer market in the future. Therefore, we speculate that Microsoft may use in-software feedback or the “Feedback Center” application of Windows 10 to collect users’ feedback in the future.
