Google Pixel Fold: Features and Specs Revealed

After the suspected appearance of Google’s first foldable screen phone, the Pixel Fold, priced at $1799, was revealed, @evleaks released what could be the actual front view of the Pixel Fold. It showcases a 5.8-inch screen area with a hole-punch design for the video camera on the folding phone’s outer screen. When compared to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5’s outer screen, it’s noticeably larger.

Current specifics regarding the Pixel Fold’s hardware include a 5.8-inch outer screen with a 17.4:9 display ratio and Full HD+ (2092 x 1080) resolution OLED display. The inner folding screen features a 7.6-inch, 6:5 display ratio, and a 2208 x 1840 OLED screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate.

Additionally, the Google Pixel Fold is said to incorporate a more robust hinge design, emphasizing durability. The processor will be Google’s own Tensor 2 (similar to the Pixel 7 series), along with a Titan M2 security chip, 12GB LPDDR5 memory, and storage capacities of 256GB or 512GB. The battery is claimed to meet all-day usage demands, with up to 72 hours of usage time in extreme power-saving mode.

In terms of cameras, the outer side features a 9.5-megapixel, f/2.2 aperture, and 84-degree shooting angle video lens. The inner screen has an 8-megapixel, f/2.0 aperture video lens, while the main camera module comprises a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens with an f/1.7 aperture and 82-degree shooting angle, accompanied by a 10.8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 121.1-degree shooting angle. Additionally, there is a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and another telephoto lens supporting up to 20x “super-resolution” shooting.

The device will be available in white and black color options, with a folded width of 5.5 inches, a thickness of 0.5 inches at its thinnest point, and a weight of 283 grams. The suggested retail price starts at $1799.

The Pixel Fold is expected to debut alongside the Pixel 7a during Google I/O 2023, with pre-orders available exclusively through the Google Store on that day. It will be available for purchase with carrier plans starting May 30th, with the phone entering the market on June 27th.

Additionally, @evleaks has released what appears to be a coral red color variant of the Pixel 7a, exclusive to the Google Store. Other color options include charcoal black, snow white, and ocean blue, with a suggested retail price of $499. It is anticipated to be unveiled during Google I/O 2023 and available for sale immediately.
