CORSAIR Officially Announces MP700: PCIe 5.0 SSD with a read speed of 10GB/s

Corsair, a renowned American company, has announced the official launch of its inaugural PCIe 5.0 SSD: the MP700. The MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD adopts the industry-standard M.2 2280 specification, offering capacities of 1TB and 2TB. Utilizing Phison’s PS5026-E26 controller and equipped with 3D QLC NAND flash memory, the SSD boasts maximum sequential read and write speeds of 10,000 MB/s, approximately 40% faster than high-performance PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Additionally, the MP700’s maximum random read and write rates are 1.5M IOPS and 1.7M IOPS, respectively, far surpassing the majority of PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

Corsair asserts that the MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD natively supports Microsoft’s DirectStorage technology, substantially reducing game loading times and benefiting gamers. Furthermore, like other Corsair SSDs, it is supported by the complimentary CORSAIR SSD Toolbox software, offering convenient features such as secure erasing and firmware updates.

To achieve optimal performance, Corsair states that the MP700 SSD requires additional thermal assistance. Users can opt for the integrated M.2 cooling system on the motherboard or purchase higher-specification M.2 SSD heat sinks, such as Corsair’s Hydro X series water block. This water block integrates the SSD into a custom water-cooling system, providing top-tier cooling and performance.

The MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD is now available for purchase through Corsair’s online store or its global network of authorized retailers and distributors. The 1TB and 2TB versions are priced at $169.99 and $289.99, respectively, with a five-year warranty.
