Apple will launch new mini-LED displays in 2023Q1

It has been reported that Apple may expand the application scope of mini-LED displays, but due to various factors, the promotion speed is not fast. According to Wccftech, Apple plans to launch a 27-inch mini-LED display in the first quarter of next year, and its performance is worth looking forward to.

The 27-inch mini-LED display was originally planned to be launched in June this year, then it was delayed to October, and finally to next year. It is understood that the new 27-inch mini-LED display supports ProMotion and a 120Hz refresh rate, with higher brightness and color accuracy, the goal is to enrich the existing product line, rather than replace the Pro Display XDR display.

Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max this year feature the new A16 Bionic, while the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus still feature last year’s A15 Bionic. According to Nikkei Asia, the price of the A16 Bionic is as high as $110, which is 2.4 times that of the A15 Bionic. The adoption of a more advanced 4nm process may be one of the reasons for the sharp increase in cost. Although the technology is more advanced, the improvement in performance is not obvious. Compared with the A15 Bionic, the multi-core performance of the A16 Bionic is about 15% to 17% higher.

As the processes used in chips become more and more advanced, price increases seem inevitable. It is rumored that Apple hopes that the A17 Bionic in the iPhone 15 series will use the 3nm process. According to the current trend, this is likely to lead to a further increase in the price of the iPhone. According to an agency, the survey shows that the average production cost of the iPhone 14 series has increased by 20%. With the current price increase by Apple, it seems that profit margins will decline.
