AMD Radeon Pro W6800X Duo is better than Nvidia RTX A6000 in the Octane rendering test

AMD updated its Radeon Pro product line at the beginning of last month, including Radeon Pro W6800X/W6900X/W6800X Duo for Mac Pro. Among these products, the Radeon Pro W6800X Duo with dual GPU configuration is the most eye-catching. It not only uses RDNA 2 architecture, Infinity Cache, and other advanced technologies but also uses AMD Infinity Fabric interconnect technology to provide high-bandwidth, low-latency direct connections between GPUs, supports high-speed GPU-to-GPU communication, and is designed to meet today’s creative workloads.

Recently, Bare Feats released relevant benchmark test results, including a number of content creation tests including Octane Render, and compared a number of AMD products including Radeon RX/Radeon Pro. If you compare the results of the Radeon Pro W6800X Duo with previous Nvidia RTX A6000, the Radeon Pro W6800X Duo is 14% faster than the RTX A6000 in the Octane Render benchmark test. In this test, NVIDIA’s graphics cards usually have better performance than in the past. In addition, Radeon Pro W6800X Duo is also 17.6% and 36.4% faster than Radeon Pro Vega II Duo and Radeon Pro W6900X, respectively.

Radeon Pro W6800X Duo is currently the only dual-chip graphics card in AMD RDNA 2 architecture. It adopts an MPX module design. It is an exclusive product of the Apple Mac Pro. For the time being, only Mac Pro 2019 models can be used. It costs $5,000 to purchase from the Apple Store.
