Mageia 9 alpha released, based on Mandriva Linux branch

Mageia is a branch of Mandriva Linux that was formed in September 2010 and was created by the former employee and contributor of the popular Linux distribution from France. Unlike Mandriva’s business entity, the Mageia project is a community project and a non-profit organization whose goal is to develop a free Linux-based operating system.
