Garmin launched two sports watches equipped with GPS: Forerunner 965 & Forerunner 265

Garmin has announced the release of two GPS-enabled sports watches, the Forerunner 965 and Forerunner 265, in the American market. These are primarily aimed at advanced sports training users and also feature AMOLED display panels for brighter display effects, making it more convenient for users to view outdoors.

The Forerunner 965 features a 1.4-inch, 47mm AMOLED display panel, with a maximum GPS usage time of up to 31 hours. Under normal smartwatch usage without GPS, battery life can be greatly extended to 23 days. It also provides built-in maps and more storage space for music files.

In terms of functionality, the Forerunner 965 features a Pulse Ox sensor component that measures body condition performance based on data such as heart rate and also supports recording sleep quality and stress levels. For female users, it provides menstrual cycle monitoring and pregnancy tracking functions, and can also measure maximum oxygen intake per minute based on body weight.

For fitness training functions, it provides customizable training goals for users, and daily training items through Garmin’s cooperation with fitness coaches. It also records users’ physical exertion status, and personal endurance, and analyzes their climbing ability based on slope, altitude, and distance from home.

As for the Forerunner 265 functionality is relatively streamlined, offering two sizes of 42mm and 46mm. The 42mm version can last up to 24 hours with GPS on and up to 15 days with it off, while the 46mm version can last up to 20 hours and 13 days respectively.

Compared to the Forerunner 965, the two specifications are lacking in fitness training items and built-in map functions, but include the same features such as heart rate, physical fitness, and sleep quality. The Forerunner 265 is currently available on the market for a suggested retail price of $449.99, while the Forerunner 965 is expected to be launched in March this year at a suggested retail price of $599.99.
