NVIDIA says gamers are spending $300 more on Ampere GPUs than the previous generation

NVIDIA previously announced at its annual investor day that its financials are in better shape than ever, the company has many avenues for profit, and the gaming segment is still the largest revenue generator. Gamers are spending an average of $300 more to upgrade to an Nvidia Ampere desktop graphics card than previous generations of graphics products, and this has resulted in an average annual increase of 13% in average product selling prices over the past five years.

The increase in the average selling price of products means that NVIDIA brings in more revenue for each graphics card sold, and the shipment of graphics cards is also increasing. The number of graphics cards sold each year increased by 11%. Not only is NVIDIA selling more expensive graphics cards, but they are selling more, and those two combined make NVIDIA’s financial statements so good, they expect more players to join. An average of 50 million gamers have been added each year over the past five years, and that number is not expected to slow down, this time making their financial performance gradually improve.

High graphics card prices are certainly a good thing for NVIDIA and their investors, but certainly not for gamers. During this period, players who bought new graphics cards spent a lot more money than before.
