Nvidia: GPU supply will improve in the second half of next year

Due to the epidemic, supply chain, chip shortage, etc., in the past year, it can be said that it is quite difficult for people to buy graphics cards at regular prices. However, according to the latest Techpowerup reports, NVIDIA officially stated that GPU supply problems will be improved in the second half of 2022.

Colette Kress, CFO of NVIDIA, gave a speech on GPU supply issues at the UBS Global TMT Conference a few days ago, said that NVIDIA is currently taking corresponding measures to improve the supply of graphics cards caused by the global chip shortage. Colette Kress said that NVIDIA will continue to purchase more chips to alleviate this situation.
The company as a whole will take the appropriate work to continue to procure more supply,” said Mrs. Kress. “We’ve been able to grow quite well during this year, each quarter, sequentially growing. And we do continue to plan to do that for Q4. So we believe we will be in a better situation in terms of supply when we look at the second half of next year.

But in fact, judging from the third quarter global graphics card market report released by the media a few days ago, the shipment volume of graphics cards is actually improving. The total shipments reached 12.7 million graphics cards, an increase of more than 1 million over the previous quarter and a year-on-year increase of 25.7%. Among them, NVIDIA‘s independent GPU shipments increased by 9.3% last quarter and 27.1% year-on-year.
