Motorola teases a new phone with a 200MP camera, expected to debut in July

Following the news that Motorola will launch a new machine equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor a few days ago, Chen Jin, general manager of Motorola China’s mobile phone business department, revealed again earlier that a new 200MP camera phone will be launched in July.

At present, Motorola has not disclosed much information. But judging from Samsung’s announcement last year of the world’s first 200MP camera sensor ISOCELL HP1, it is no surprise that the new Motorola phone will use this camera sensor.

According to the previous description, ISOCELL HP1 pioneered the 0.64 µm pixel size. The highest resolution can reach 16384 x 12288, and the size of the photosensitive element is 1/1.22 inch so that the captured images can correspond to a higher definition.

In response to the relative decrease in the amount of light entering per unit pixel as the pixel density increases, Samsung has also adopted the new ChameleonCell pixel combination technology. It claims to be able to automatically merge 16 groups (4 x 4), 4 groups (2 x 2) pixels with the shooting image like a chameleon, or maintain full-pixel shooting under sufficient light conditions. In extremely low-light environments, 16 groups of pixels can be combined into 12.5 million pixels, and the light input per unit pixel can reach 2.56μm, thereby shooting bright and clear images in low-light environments.

As for Motorola’s new phone, it seems to be different from the previously revealed Razr3, which may be called Frontier and also uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Motorola Frontier smartphone is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED screen that supports a 144Hz frame refresh rate design, and the battery supports 125W wired fast charging.
