Sony is about to announce the acquisition of Bluepoint Games

Recently, Sony has acquired Housemarque, a game developer from Finland, and Nixxes Software, a Dutch game studio.

Housemarque is likely to develop 3A masterpieces for the PlayStation platform in the future, while Nixxes Software may help Sony launch more exclusive works on the PlayStation series to the PC platform. Probably because there have been too many acquisition activities in the recent period, Sony’s official Twitter account in Japan has sent a wrong message that it appears the PlayStation Japan Twitter account leaked another acquisition.

According to Wccftech reports, this is clearly not an unfounded mistake. In fact, Sony does intend to acquire Bluepoint Games and even has made the official announcement pictures, but the error was posted in advance. Some sources pointed out that Sony has actually acquired Bluepoint Games, but it has not yet announced it. It will be announced when the official event is held on July 8, and Bluepoint Games’ new game development plan will be disclosed.

Bluepoint Games and Sony also have a long-term close cooperation relationship. Founded in 2006, this game studio located in Texas, USA is good at doing remakes and transplants. From this point of view, Sony may use the expertise of Bluepoint Games to remake classic works or cooperate with Nixxes Software to transplant exclusive works on the PlayStation series to the PC platform.
