Philips launches Evnia 49M2C8900 monitor

Philips has unveiled its novel Evnia 49M2C8900 monitor, the latest jewel in the crown of its premium Evina 8000 series of gaming displays. Adorned with an array of avant-garde features, this monitor promises an immersive gaming odyssey whilst doubling as an exemplary apparatus for professional tasks.

Visually, the Evnia 49M2C8900 perpetuates the design ethos emblematic of Philips’ Evina line, boasting a trilateral ultra-narrow bezel aesthetic. It employs a QD-OLED screen, offering a display aspect ratio of 32:9, and a curvature of 1800R. With a color depth of 10bit and a resolution of 5210 x 1440, the monitor rejuvenates visuals at a refresh rate of 240Hz. The SDR/HDR luminance is rated at 250 and 450 nits respectively, with a staggering contrast ratio of 15,000,000:1. A rapid response time of 0.03ms is complemented by color gamuts of 153.1% for sRGB, 125.2% for Adobe RGB, and 99% for DCI-P3. Furthermore, it has been honored with the DisplayHDR True Black 400 and VESA ClearMR 13000 certifications.

Connectivity on the Evnia 49M2C8900 is both abundant and diverse, offering dual HDMI 2.1 ports, a DP 1.4 interface, a fully functional USB-C port (supporting DP mode and 90W power delivery), and an audio jack. A hub functionality enriches it further, providing four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports. Additionally, it’s endowed with KVM capabilities, supports PBP/PIP, and is augmented by a 2.2-channel 30W audio system, bolstered by DTS sound effects. Ergonomically designed, its stand facilitates height adjustments from 0mm to 120mm, tilts from -5° to 15°, and swivels from -20° to 20°, ensuring versatile adaptability across myriad usage scenarios. It’s also compatible with VESA mounting standards (100 x 100 mm).

It is understood that the Evnia 49M2C8900 monitor, with a price tag approximating 1950 Euros, is set to grace the European markets by mid-September this year.
