In the second quarter of the fiscal year 2022, Nvidia’s revenue was $6.507 billion, a year-on-year increase of 68% and a month-on-month increase of 15%. In addition, net profit was $2.374 billion, a year-on-year increase of 282% and a month-on-month increase of 24%. Among them, game business revenue was $3.06 billion, a year-on-year increase of 85%; data center business revenue was $2.37 billion, a year-on-year increase of 35%; professional visualization business revenue was $519 million, a year-on-year increase of 156%; automotive business revenue was $152 million, a year-on-year increase of 37%. Ms. Colette Kress, Chief Financial Officer of Nvidia, said that Nvidia has a very eye-catching performance in games, data centers, and professional visualization, all of which have set record revenues.
The industry generally believes that Nvidia’s dramatic increase in profits in the past few months is due to the shortage of graphics cards. In particular, the cryptocurrency market is soaring, and miners are vying to buy graphics cards, which once made it difficult for players to find a graphics card. However, Nvidia said that the revenue growth is mainly due to the GeForce RTX 30 series of gaming graphics cards based on Ampere architecture. In this quarter, more than 80% of the GeForce graphics cards shipped were LHR version GPUs.
