ASUS releases ROG Swift Pro PG248QP monitor

ASUS proudly unveiled the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP gaming monitor. This esteemed product had its inaugural showcase at the CES 2023 exhibition earlier this year. Historically, ASUS has consistently been a vanguard in the realm of refresh rates: debuting a 144Hz gaming monitor in 2012, introducing the first 240Hz NVIDIA G-SYNC display in 2017, and in 2021, heralding a pioneering 360Hz product. This iteration astoundingly amplifies the refresh rate to an astonishing 540Hz.

The ROG Swift Pro PG248QP monitor is anchored by a 24.1-inch Esports-TN panel, boasting a 170°/160° viewing angle and a 1920 x 1080 resolution. While its intrinsic refresh rate stands at 360Hz, it can be overclocked to reach the zenith of 540Hz. The monitor’s Gray-to-Gray (GtG) response time is a mere 0.2ms, and it supports NVIDIA G-SYNC. Though TN panels may exhibit a somewhat pedestrian color and visual performance, they indisputably outshine in terms of response speed and refresh rates. Such panels are quintessential choices for FPS gaming aficionados and professional esports contenders. ASUS asserts that the response speed of the Esports-TN panel has surged by 50%.

This display offers a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and exudes a brightness of 400 nits. With HDR10 support, its sRGB gamut extends to 125%. It has been bestowed with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 accreditation, as well as the TÜV Rheinland certification for flicker-free and low blue light features. The ROG Swift Pro PG248QP also incorporates the second-generation Ultra-Low Motion Blur technology (ULMB 2). Compared to its antecedents, it delivers full-refresh-rate backlight strobing, nearly doubling the brightness and minimizing crosstalk. Additionally, the NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer stands poised to optimize and gauge system latency within competitive gaming scenarios.

In terms of connectivity, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP is equipped with dual HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, and an audio jack. It also features USB hub capabilities with two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and supports Aura Sync lighting synchronization. Further enriching its profile, it has an embedded ESS DAC, supporting 32-bit 384 kHz PCM audio. Its base is both retractable and lockable, enabling both expansion and consolidation to optimize desktop real estate. Once folded, its height adjusts between 0 and 110mm, it can swivel horizontally from -30° to 30°, tilt from -5° to 20°, and is also compatible with a 100 x 100 mm VESA wall mount.
