The Windows 10 Dev channel is about to start testing the 21H1/21H2 version

Given that the Windows 10 20H2 RTM version has been released, Microsoft’s development focus will also continue to migrate to the new version, which is the 21H1 version.

Windows 10 21H1 version is a new version that Microsoft will launch next spring. According to rumors, this version is still a small update without much functionality.

Microsoft has previously emphasized that all functions of the Windows 10 Dev channel are no longer bound to a specific version, that is, new functions may appear in any version.

However, when the 21H1 version enters the Windows 10 Dev development channel for testing, the version number will be greatly increased to distinguish the current version branch.

The current version number of the developer channel is Build 20XXX series, but Microsoft has started internal testing of the Build 21XXX version that is considered to be 21H1.

Microsoft has jumped up to 1,000 version numbers, which is the main reason why the media believe that the new version that will be tested soon belongs to the Windows 10 21H1 update.

However, Microsoft did not explain these contents, so we may still need to wait for the follow-up new version push of the developer channel to determine the version. As for the new features that the new version will bring, it is not yet known.

It is worth noting that there has been news that the focus of next spring is the Windows 10X version, and Windows 10 21H1 will make way for this version.

Windows 10 21H1 is likely to become a minor update and will not bring many new features, so there will be no direct jumps in the build version number.
